Peru Quiksilver World Junior Champs
Peru seems to be a desert with an amazing coastline. I am here at the ISA Billabong Junior World Championship for two weeks and this place is a surf paradise.
Being my last u/18 year and also my senior year in this event, I really want to do well., for me it is… do or die.
We arrived in Peru five days prior to the start of the event, which gave us some time to get comfortable in this new place and its surroundings. Having relaxed for a day, and partially recovering from jetlag, I was ready to get into the water. I really enjoyed the waves, a decent size and powerful point breaks. I got more confident with each hour spent in the water.
The good waves and the amazing vibe is promising an amazing World champs this year. The main podium has a hollow left and the B podium has a long right hander rolling forever, which reminds me of a mix between Victoria Bay and Mossel Bay Point.
I had to fight my way through repocharge heats for two days after I only had one wave in a heat. We are now only 10 girls left in this event and tomorrow is the last day and crowning of the new Junior World Champion.
I am really looking forward to slipping on a contest rashie and kick some butt.
Warm regards
Bianca
